The Luther Prep Phoenix will be playing in front of their home fans against the Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Luther Prep will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings (they are ranked 232nd, while Living Word Lutheran is ranked 62nd).
Luther Prep lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. Their rough 68-46 loss to Lake Mills might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Luther Prep has suffered yet this season.
Meanwhile, Living Word Lutheran put another one in the bag last Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Mayville 65-28 at home. Living Word Lutheran has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 21 points or more this season.
Living Word Lutheran's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaleah Alles, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Alles has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Delaney Winkelmann, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
This is the second loss in a row for Luther Prep and nudges their season record down to 7-7. As for Living Word Lutheran, they pushed their record up to 15-0 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home.
