Sadly, the Peninsula Catholic Knights are still looking for their first win of the season after 13 matches. They were outmatched by Steward on the road and fell 75-15. Peninsula Catholic has struggled against Steward recently, as their contest on Thursday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Steward's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Savannah Martin, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martin has scored all season. Brooklyn Kavanaugh was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Peninsula Catholic's defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Steward, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Peninsula Catholic will face off against Atlantic Shores Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Steward, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Miller School of Albemarle at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th. Steward will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Miller School of Albemarle surely won't give up without a fight.
