Two dominant players in Gideon Allen and Josiah Thompson are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The West Lincoln Rebels and the Forestview Jaguars will round out the year against one another at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. West Lincoln is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Two weeks ago, West Lincoln took a serious blow against Bandys, falling 78-47. While losing is never fun, West Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 440th, while Bandys is ranked 46th).
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Allen, who scored 11 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Mikalister Andersen, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Forestview pushed their score all the way to 63 last Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 76-63 to South Point. Forestview has struggled against South Point recently, as their game last Tuesday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
West Lincoln's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Forestview, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
West Lincoln came up short against Forestview in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, falling 81-76. Can West Lincoln avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
