The Coronado Islanders will take on the Madison Warhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coronado is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
On Thursday, Coronado got the win against Lincoln by a conclusive 14-6. The Islanders haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Tatum Munoz made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Munoz was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Natalie Fay was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Quinn Smock, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Coronado kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Madison earned a 6-1 victory over Morse on Thursday.
Aniyah Shelby (2029) spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kalea Ohly (2027), who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Audrina Burnett (2026) was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Madison's win bumped their record up to 13-6-1. As for Coronado, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Coronado hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .354. However, it's not like Madison struggles in that department as they've averaged .353. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Coronado got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March of 2025 against Madison by a conclusive 18-2 score. Do the Islanders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
