Friday Harbor is a perfect 10-0 against La Conner since May of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Wolverines will head out on the road to take on the Braves at 4:00 p.m. Friday Harbor has given up an average of 7 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Friday Harbor is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Blaine just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Saturday. They came up short against the Borderites, falling 12-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Wolverines have suffered since March 26th.
Brandy Lawson made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Caylee Morton also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, La Conner hadn't done well against Tonasket recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Braves were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Tigers. The Braves not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 3rd (when they won 18-7).
La Conner let Jade Souryavong and Yamileth Ocampo Contreras run wild. Souryavong went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI, while Ocampo Contreras went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Ocampo Contreras continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Katarina Edwards, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one run.
La Conner always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April.
Friday Harbor's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for La Conner, their record is now 6-9.
Friday Harbor got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in May of 2025 against La Conner by a conclusive 14-2 score. Do the Wolverines have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Braves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
