The Kickapoo Panthers won the last time they faced the De Soto Pirates, and things went their way on Friday too. Kickapoo enjoyed a cozy 48-34 win over De Soto. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Kickapoo.
Despite the defeat, De Soto had strong showings from Sylvia Krueger, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds, and Kylee Venner, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 20 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Krueger has scored all season. Sophia Obert was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Kickapoo has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for De Soto, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kickapoo's road trip will continue as they head out to face Seneca at 7:15 p.m. on January 23rd. Seneca will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings (they are ranked 452nd, while Kickapoo is ranked 159th). As for De Soto, they will head out on the road to square off against Luther at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
