The Lamar Silver Foxes entered their tilt with the Branchville Yellow Jackets with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Lamar was the clear victor by a 27-6 margin over Branchville. Considering Lamar has won four matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Lamar found their leader in underclassman Zori Pierce, who rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 63 yards and a touchdown. Pierce's longest rush was for an incredible 88 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Travion Mcphail, who rushed for 138 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.7 yards per carry.
Lamar's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.8 points per game. As for Branchville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Lamar will look to defend their home field on Friday against Carvers Bay at 7:30 p.m. Branchville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
