Several Fighting Hawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaiden Aiken, who scored 18 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Aiken scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Arkel Thomas, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
Denmark-Olar got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Treveon Hinton out in front who scored 29 points along with three steals. Hinton hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Tykeen Ross, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds.
Blackville-Hilda has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Denmark-Olar, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blackville-Hilda will square off against North at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. North has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,045 points over their last 14 contests. As for Denmark-Olar, they will head out on the road to face off against Wagener-Salley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Denmark-Olar is facing Wagener-Salley at the right time seeing as Wagener-Salley is stuck on a 19-game losing streak.
