When it comes to explaining why Maeser Prep Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Octavia Mosher. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That was a full 60% of Maeser Prep Academy's points, marking the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Patricia Keeley, who scored eight points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead American Leadership Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Leah Frost, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 18 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Frost has scored all season. Ali Decker was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Maeser Prep Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-13. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.0 points per game. As for American Leadership Academy, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Maeser Prep Academy will head out on the road to face off against Waterford at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Waterford is ranked 105th, while Maeser Prep Academy is ranked 130th). As for American Leadership Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Draper APA at 7:00 p.m. Draper APA will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
