5A District 15 recap November 13, 2013
Immokalee extended the longest winning streak in 5A District 15 this week by beating South Fort Myers, 32-29. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Indians.
Golden Gate moved up to 338 from 370 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Titans climbed the ranks as a result of topping Palmetto Ridge 20-17.
Immokalee's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Louinelson Celian threw for 150 and 4 touchdowns and D'Ernest Johnson had 62 yards receiving. On the ground Taeler Porter chipped in 84 yards. Jacky Fabius helped Immokalee's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 20 yards.
Johnson was the best receiver in the league this week as Richard Dombroski's team bested the Wolfpack. Johnson racked up 6 receptions for 62 yards. Fabius helped Immokalee's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 20 yards.
Leading 5A District 15 in both passing and receiving yards, the Indians' Celian and J.C. Jackson have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-9 quarterback Celian has thrown for 1,293 yards this season, while Jackson has 24 catches for 742 yards. Isaiah D'Haiti from Golden Gate leads the league in rushing with 944 yards.
In 154 carries D'Haiti has accumulated 944 yard this year.
Lely and Barron Collier played the most contested game in the league this week, with Lely eventually emerging with a 14-12 victory.
