It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Carolina International Comets ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They walked away with a 62-55 win over Bradford Prep. The win was just what Carolina International needed coming off of a 86-63 defeat in their prior match.
Carolina International found their leader in underclassman Roy Quick, who scored 22 points along with six steals. The match was Quick's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Steven Jefferson, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds.
Bradford Prep's loss came despite strong showings from Luke Hanson and Jeremiah Jones. Hanson scored 25 points, while Jones dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him.
Carolina International's win ended a eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-5. As for Bradford Prep, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carolina International will be home for the holidays to greet East Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bradford Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Community School of Davidson at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
