The Santa Rosa Warriors waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They managed a 43-39 victory over IDEA Weslaco Pike. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Santa Rosa also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Santa Rosa found their leader in underclassman Aiden Garcia, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals. It was the first time this season that Garcia scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Amber Mendoza, who scored five points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Santa Rosa's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-16. As for IDEA Weslaco Pike, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-8.
Santa Rosa will square off against IDEA Edinburg College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Santa Rosa has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. IDEA Weslaco Pike does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
