Dallastown barely beat Spring Grove the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Rockets with a sharp 7-1 victory on Monday. The win was nothing new for the Wildcats as they're now sitting on five straight.
Dallastown got a great performance from Sam Forry as he tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Forry is becoming a predictor of the Wildcats' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 4-6 when he doesn't).
On the hitting side, Cade Flinchbaugh and Caden Snyder did most of the damage at the plate: Flinchbaugh got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double, while Snyder went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI Snyder has posted since back in March.
Dallastown hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spring Grove struck out seven times.
Dallastown's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Spring Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-8-1.
