Sunset Park had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 20-19 W against the Grady Falcons. While the HEAT didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-7), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Melanea Francisco and Selena Espinal did most of the damage at the plate: Francisco scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances, while Espinal scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances. Francisco also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Analia Perez was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Sunset Park was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .387 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Sunset Park pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Grady, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Sunset Park and Grady will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the HEAT see the field they'll take on Canarsie at 4:00 p.m. on the 21st. As for Grady, their break will end when they face Erasmus Hall at 4:00 p.m. on the 21st.
