The Port of Los Angeles Polar Bears had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Dymally by a score of 60-47 on Wednesday. The victory was just what Port of Los Angeles needed coming off of a 63-40 defeat in their prior game.
Leading Port of Los Angeles to victory were Gared Almazan and Hudson Smith. Almazan scored 21 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals, while Smith scored 27 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Almazan has scored at least 25% of Port of Los Angeles' points. Another player making a difference was Josh Quella, who scored 2 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Dymally's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Amonte Mobley, who scored 15 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryant Collins, who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds.
Port of Los Angeles' victory bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Dymally, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Port of Los Angeles will take on Locke at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Locke has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 194 points over their last three matchups. As for Dymally, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Dorsey at 6:00 p.m.
