Basketball Recap: Clear Fork Takes a Loss

After flying high against Loudonville last Monday, Clear Fork came back down to earth. The Clear Fork Colts fell to the Highland Fighting Scots 63-57. Even though they lost, the Colts' still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.1 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

When it comes to explaining why Clear Fork lost on Thursday, don't look at Garett Hotz. Despite the final result, he posted 17 points along with seven boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Davis Hoeflich, who had eight points and six rebounds.

Highland found their leader in sophomore Jakai Wilson, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Toby Rogers was another key player, putting up nine points.

Clear Fork has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Highland, they moved to 4-6 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Clear Fork didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 65-53 victory against Edison on the 4th. As for Highland, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 43-38 win against Lakewood on the 4th.
