Windham is 2-7 against New London since March of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Windham Whippets will take on the New London Whalers at 7:00 p.m. Both are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Windham is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They put the hurt on Waterford with a sharp 74-51 win on Friday. The score was close at the half, but the Whippets pulled away in the second half with 44 points.

Windham can attribute much of their success to Malcolm Hunter, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten boards, and Anden Gonzalez, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 18 points and five assists. Hunter's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadiel Crespo, who posted eight points and seven assists.
They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Windham was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely New London's strategy against Fitch on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that New London blew Fitch out of the water with an 82-42 final score. That looming 82-42 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Whalers yet this season.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Dashaun Phillips and Xavier Goode. Phillips had a solid game and put up 13 points and six rebounds. Meanwhile, Goode did his best for the losing side, putting up 14 points and four steals.
New London now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Windham, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Keep an eye on the arc in Wednesday's game: Windham has made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having averaged 9 three-pointers per game. It's a different story for New London, though, as they've been averaging only 3.7 three-pointers. Given Windham's sizable advantage in that area, New London will need to find a way to close that gap.
Windham came up short against New London in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 64-51. Can Windham avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
