Basketball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

If Mt. Pleasant was feeling good fresh off their 71-39 takedown of Battle Creek last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mt. Pleasant Tigers fell to the Loretto Mustangs 36-32. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 81-31 back in January.

Mt. Pleasant's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Micah Dale, who went 5 for 10 en route to 12 points. Jayden McClure was another key player, putting up eight points.

Mt. Pleasant's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-5. As for Loretto, the win keeps them at an undefeated 22-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Pleasant will challenge Summertown at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Summertown is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 71.5 points per game this season. As for Loretto, they will square off against Battle Creek at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Battle Creek: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Loretto has snatched up eight consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
