It was a good run, but the Anderson Raptors unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Milford by a score of 62-59. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (58), Anderson still had to take the loss.
Anderson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrew Patterson, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Piening, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Anderson were working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Milford's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gavin Dalen, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Dalen hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Matthew O'Donnell, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Anderson's loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-6. As for Milford, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-10.
Anderson and Archbishop McNicholas will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Anderson is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 57.3 points per game this season. As for Milford, they and Ross will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Ross is coming into the matchup with six straight wins on the road, so Milford is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
