This season hasn't been kind to the Williamsburg Academy Stallions, who are still winless after their fourth contest. They took a hard 27-10 fall against Florence Christian on Friday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Williamsburg Academy in their matchups with Florence Christian: they've now lost eight in a row.
Leading Florence Christian to victory were Anna Kate Huggins and Emerson Poston. Huggins scored eight points along with nine steals, while Poston scored seven points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Poston has scored at least 25% of Florence Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Lambert, who scored four points.
Williamsburg Academy bumped their record down to 0-4 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Florence Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Florence Christian will head out to face Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Williamsburg Academy will host them at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th.
