If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Waukon. On Friday they take on Monticello at 7:30 PM. Waukon are coming into the contest hot, having won three in a row.
While not quite a landslide, the game between Waukon and Cascade last Friday was still a pretty decisive one as Waukon wrapped it up with a 40-21 victory.
Meanwhile, after having lost a blowout to Bellevue in their previous matchup, Monticello were happy to find some success. Everything went Monticello's way against Maquoketa Valley as the squad secured a 43-7 win.
Their wins bumped Monticello to 2-2 and Waukon to 3-1. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up.
