Two dominant in Cici Wingate and Mary Mehan are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Chelsea Academy Knights will play host again and welcome the Oakcrest Chargers, where tip off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Chelsea Academy is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Oakcrest in Virginia (Chelsea Academy is ranked 103rd, while Oakcrest is ranked 244th).
Last Friday, Chelsea Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Christ Chapel Academy, taking the game 58-45.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Oakcrest's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They received a tough blow as they fell 55-39 to Saint John Paul the Great Catholic.
Chelsea Academy's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Oakcrest, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-6.
Chelsea Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Oakcrest in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, winning 46-38. Will Chelsea Academy repeat their success, or does Oakcrest have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
