The Alta Hawks and the Bountiful RedHawks squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but sadly the Alta Hawks had to settle for second. Alta and Bountiful were almost perfectly matched up, but Alta suffered an agonizing 20-19 defeat. Alta's loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Alta's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Matt Mckea, who gained 120 total yards and a touchdown, and Kepa Niumeitolu who threw for 265 yards while completing 72% of his passes.
Even if they lost, Alta's defense sure didn't make it easy: Bountiful's QB was sacked six times before it was all said and done. Tony Vainuku was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up four sacks himself.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bountiful to victory, but perhaps none more so than Siaki Fekitoa, who rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown.
Alta's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Bountiful, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Alta does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bountiful will head out on the road to face off against Timpview at 6:30 p.m. on November 17th. Timpview will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
