They came out on top against Medina Valley by a score of 49-42. Given Harlandale's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while Medina Valley is ranked 606th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cascia Sandoval continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Marissa Ortiz, who scored 13 points.
Harlandale is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season. As for Medina Valley, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 10-15.
