The Normandy Invaders will head out on the road to square off against the University School Preppers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
University School will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Normandy extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Invaders blew past Westlake 8-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Invaders have posted against the Demons since April 7, 2022.

Evan Lucas made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Peyton Wolf, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Cullen Rooney, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and two doubles.
Normandy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. They are 4-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask University School). Their pitchers stepped up to hand North a 17-0 shutout on Thursday. The Preppers haven't had any issues with the Rangers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Deacon Nelson was excellent, going 2-for-5 with four RBI and one double.
The victory got Normandy back to even at 7-7. As for University School, their record now sits at 15-4.
Friday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Normandy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. However, it's not like University School struggles in that department as they've averaged .346. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Normandy couldn't quite get it done against University School when the teams last played back in March of 2025 as they fell 5-1. Can the Invaders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
