The Union Rockets struggled with assists on Saturday (the Shenandoah Raiders had 13 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Union took a serious blow against Shenandoah, falling 63-21. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Union in their matchups with Shenandoah: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the loss, Union saw an underclassman step up: Kenzy Ogden scored six points along with five rebounds.
Shenandoah's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Grace Lee, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Gabbi Patrick, who scored 12 points along with seven steals.
Union's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Shenandoah, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Union will look to defend their home court on Friday against Union City at 7:30 p.m. Union City and Union are at an even 3-3 over their past six head-to-heads. As for Shenandoah, they will head out on the road to face off against Knightstown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
