Germantown is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. After each having a week off, they and the Starkville Yellowjackets will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. Germantown will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.
Germantown is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Pearl, posting a 55-0 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

 King White
| 09/26/25 @ Pearl | 163.9 |
| 09/05/25 vs Oak Grove | 145.5 |
| 09/20/24 @ West Lauderdale | 145.3 |
| 09/12/25 @ Warren Central | 130.3 |

King White was his usual excellent self, throwing for 285 yards and four TDs while completing 84.2% of his passes, and also rushing for 33 yards and one score. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (163.9). Lawson Branson was another key player, picking up 137 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Starkville faced Brandon in a battle between two of the state's top teams last Friday. The Yellowjackets walked away with a 22-14 victory over the Bulldogs. Winning may never get old, but the Yellowjackets sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Germantown better keep an eye on Kingston Johnson. He was instrumental in Starkville's win, throwing for 158 yards and a pair of TDs, while also rushing for 58 yards. Graham Hancock also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Starkville's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from Tylan Paty: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made five total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Starkville's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Germantown, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Germantown has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 155.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Starkville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 157.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Germantown was taken down by Starkville 42-0 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Will the Mavericks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other football content.
