After flying high against the Southampton Indians on Friday, the West Point Pointers came back down to earth. West Point was outmatched by Northampton on the road and fell 83-24. West Point was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 57-14.
Leading Northampton to victory were Ronyell Coston and Quayshawn Washington. Coston scored 30 points along with 5 assists, while Washington dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Coston has scored at least 25% of Northampton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Anderson, who scored 13 points along with 5 steals.
West Point now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Northampton, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Point will take on Colonial Beach at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Northampton, they will be playing at home against Mathews at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
