In what's become a running theme this season, the South Pasadena Tigers gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They blew past Blair 94-69. The win was nothing new for South Pasadena as they're now sitting on six straight.
Russell Williams was his usual excellent self, scoring 34 points along with two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Derek Peterson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 assists.
Despite the loss, Blair saw an underclassman step up: Timmy Anderson scored 40 points along with nine assists. Anderson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Serigne Deme was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds.
South Pasadena pushed their record up to 15-5 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.67 points. As for Blair, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Pasadena will square off against San Marino at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Blair will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Monrovia at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Monrovia will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 893rd, while Blair is ranked 402nd).
