The Wellston Golden Rockets can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. Everything went their way against River Valley as Wellston made off with a 64-43 win. That 21 point margin sets a new team best for Wellston this season.
Several Raiders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Landon Burns, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Gary Truance, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Wellston's win bumped their record up to 4-13. As for River Valley, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wellston will square off against the Vikings at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Symmes Valley will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. As for River Valley, they will head out on the road to square off against the Huntsmen at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Ohio (Huntington is ranked 771st, while the Raiders are ranked 787th).
