The Hedgesville Eagles put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Berkeley Springs by a score of 50-41. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hedgesville also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Hedgesville got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Maggie Boyer out in front who scored 20 points. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalie Yates, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Hedgesville's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Berkeley Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hedgesville is on the road again on Friday and play against Preston at 7:30 p.m. on December 22nd. Berkeley Springs will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hampshire at 7:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024.
