Brunswick School barely beat Greens Farms Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bruins were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Dragons on Thursday. The Bruins' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Johnny Gally tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Brunswick School got a massive performance out of Michael Marini, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Marini a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jayden Montanez, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Brunswick School hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greens Farms Academy struck out ten times.
The victory made it two in a row for Brunswick School and bumps their season record up to 8-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Greens Farms Academy, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
