When it comes to explaining why John Carroll Catholic lost, one person who can't be blamed is Caden Johnson. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Johnson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Collin Jefferson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Among those leading the charge was Colton Foster, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 17 rebounds. That's the first time this season that he scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marquan Burgess, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
John Carroll Catholic bumped their record down to 7-12 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Westwood, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. John Carroll Catholic and Cocoa Beach will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Cocoa Beach has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 176 points over their last three contests. As for Westwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Fork at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Fork presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Westwood in Florida (South Fork is ranked 62nd, while Westwood is ranked 491st).
