The Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes will be playing at home against the Mansfield Legacy Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Duncanville will be looking to keep their 12-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Duncanville and DeSoto (ranked 16 and seven in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile game. Duncanville took a hard 49-35 fall against DeSoto on Saturday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Despite their defeat, Duncanville saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Caden Durham, who rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, was perhaps the best of all. Durham was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Keelon Russell, who threw for 309 yards and two touchdowns while completing 76.9% of his passes.
Meanwhile, Mansfield Legacy took a serious blow against Cedar Hill on Friday, falling 42-7. While losing is never fun, Mansfield Legacy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while Cedar Hill is ranked 49th).
Duncanville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-1. As for Mansfield Legacy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Duncanville against Mansfield Legacy in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as the squad secured a 42-6 victory. Does Duncanville have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mansfield Legacy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
