Softball Recap: Heritage Academy Wins Going Away Against Imagine Prep Superstition

Heritage Academy's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Imagine Prep Superstition Panthers with a sharp 21-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Heroes, who have now won 16 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Tatum Meeker made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Heritage Academy let Sarahi Rico and Francesca Johnson run wild. Rico went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple, while Johnson went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Person, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Heritage Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .857. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Heritage Academy's victory bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Imagine Prep Superstition, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Heritage Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Imagine Prep Superstition, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mission Heights Prep at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Phantoms have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 16 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
