Edgewood Academy came out on top against Autauga Academy by a score of 59-46 on Thursday. Given Edgewood Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Autauga Academy is ranked 255th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Lindsey Brown, who scored 41 points along with eight steals and six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Avery White was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Several Generals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Teonna Davis, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Davis hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Chloe Davis, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Edgewood Academy pushed their record up to 25-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Autauga Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
Edgewood Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Autauga Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Abbeville Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Abbeville Christian Academy is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
