6A Region 5 recap November 5, 2013
Jackson-Olin moved up to 199 from 233 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 6A Region 5. The Mustangs were able to move up by besting Huffman 44-3.
Hoover added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Opelika, 29-7. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Buccaneers.
Minor's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Drequan Pritchett threw for 138 yards and Cartderius Woods had 59 yards receiving. On the ground Quinterius Gamble chipped in 103 yards. Trey Lee helped Minor's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 41 yards.
Woods was the best wideout in the league this week as the Tigers bested Fairfield. Woods tallied 2 receptions for 59 yards. Lee helped Minor's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 41 yards.
Minor's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Pritchett has thrown for 1,437 yards and 8 touchdowns this season, while Woods has 19 catches for 388 yards.
Jackson-Olin took down the Vikings 44-3 last week, the largest margin of any game.
