The Fruitvale Bobcats's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Oakwood Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on December 7th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Fruitvale is ranked 1383rd, while Oakwood is ranked 1404th).
Last Tuesday, Fruitvale ended up a good deal behind Neches and lost 63-44. Fruitvale has struggled against Neches recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Oakwood had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They really took it to Trinity School of Texas for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-29 win at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 29-9.
Oakwood's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nick Strickland , who scored 17 points along with 5 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Strickland has scored at least 25% of Oakwood's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Ballard, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
The losses dropped Fruitvale to 2-8 and Neches to 8-3.
