Baseball Recap: Wasatch's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wasatch). Everything went their way against the Richfield Wildcats on Saturday as they made off with a 22-2 victory. The win was nothing new for the Wasps as they're now sitting on three straight.

The team relied heavily on Austin Brown, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and three RBI while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Salmon, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs.

Wasatch kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

Wasatch's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Richfield, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Wasatch will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ogden at 3:00 p.m. on the 19th. As for Richfield, they will face off against Pine View at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
