The Spanaway Lake Sentinels scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They rang in the new year with a 82-73 victory over Lakes. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Leading Spanaway Lake to victory were Aj Blanks and Darius Alexander. Blanks almost dropped a triple-double on 21 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists, while Alexander scored 23 points along with five assists. The game was Blanks' ninth in a row with at least ten points. Jabari Preston was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Spanaway Lake and bumps their season record up to 8-4. As for Lakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Lincoln the next time they take the court. Lakes will host Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Spanaway Lake will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
