After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Delphi Academy, Sports Leadership & Management was happy to have turned things around  on Thursday. They came out on top against the North Tampa Christian Academy Titans by a score of  3-1. The  victory was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
 While Sports Leadership & Management might've won, it sure wasn't easy: North Tampa Christian Academy scored at least 22 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 21-25, 25-22,  25-23.
Sports Leadership & Management found their leader in sophomore  Lauren Viltres, who  had 16  digs and one  assist. Those 16  digs set a new season-high mark for  Viltres.  Jariely Cardona also deserves some recognition as  she  had her first  kill of the season.
 Sports Leadership & Management  was lethal from the service line and  finished the game with 16  aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  served at least seven  aces in three consecutive  contests.
Sports Leadership & Management's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for North Tampa Christian Academy, their loss was  their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which  dropped their record down to 1-5.
 Looking ahead, Sports Leadership & Management will venture away from home to  take on Bell Creek Academy  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for North Tampa Christian Academy, they will welcome Cristo Rey Tampa  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. This will  be the Titans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
