Copper Basin had won 11 straight games and Alexis Hyatt did her part to make it 12 on Saturday. The Copper Basin Cougars walked away with a 57-49 victory over the Clay County Bulldogs thanks in part to Hyatt, who went 7-for-13 en route to 21 points and five rebounds. What's more, she posted two blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024.
The team also got some help courtesy of Kloie Ballew, who scored eight points and 13 boards. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.
Copper Basin pushed their record up to 18-8 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.9 points over those games. As for Clay County, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
Looking ahead, Copper Basin will take on Richland at 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Copper Basin knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Richland likes a good challenge.
