San Joaquin Athletic Association recap November 13, 2013
Chavez scaled the state rankings by moving to 725 from 762 this week, the biggest jump in San Joaquin Athletic Association. The Titans climbed the ranks as a result of beating Franklin 49-28.
Tracy took down Bear Creek 38-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Nate Jones ran for 153 yards in the win.
Lodi's dynamic duo of David Simon and Jacob Coons proved tough for Lincoln to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Simon threw for 138 yards and 1 touchdown and Coons had 50 yards receiving. David Silveira helped Lodi's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 49 yards.
Mike Frymyer was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Bulldogs bested the Bruins. The 6-foot-1 senior grabbed 2 sacks.
Chavez's Julius Davila and Darrin Gentry led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Davila has thrown for 1,538 yards this season, while Gentry has 55 catches for 888 yards. Tracy's Jones leads the league in rushing yards with 936.
Jones of the Matt Shrout's team is just 64 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 79 carries Jones has put up 936 yards this year.
John Ward's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,105 from 10,716. The advance stemmed from a 49-28 victory over the Yellowjackets last week.
