The Paulding County Patriots suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Friday. They fell just short of Alexander by a score of 48-45. Paulding County has not had much luck with Alexander recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Paulding County's loss came despite strong showings from Hope Johnson and Alexus Wilson. Johnson scored 16 points along with seven rebounds, while Wilson scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last six games she's played.
Alexander was led to victory by Rachel Porter and Isabella Italiano. Porter scored nine points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Italiano dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Nimah Ibidunni was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Paulding County bumped their record down to 9-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Alexander, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing New Manchester the next time they take the court. Paulding County will head out to face New Manchester at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Alexander will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
