The Clear Brook Wolverines fell victim to the Dickinson Gators''s stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 42-0 loss at the hands of the Gators. While losing is never fun, Clear Brook can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 503rd, while Dickinson is ranked 19th).
Ryan Benavides rushed for 110 yards on only 15 carries. Jaiden Carter was his top target, picking up 35 receiving yards.
Clear Brook are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 2.0 points per game. As for Dickinson, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Clear Brook does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Dickinson will take on Pearland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pearland knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Dickinson likes a good challenge.
