The Lakewood Tigers lost against the Arvada West Wildcats back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Lakewood received a tough blow as they fell 62-47 to Arvada West. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lakewood in their matchups with Arvada West: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the defeat, Lakewood had strong showings from Sam Silburn, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Quentin Wilson, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Bazan-Torres, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Jordan Stremel was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with nine rebounds for Arvada West. Another player making a difference was Keegen Balistreri, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Lakewood has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Arvada West, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Lakewood will head out on the road to take on Ralston Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Ralston Valley is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. As for Arvada West, they will be playing at home against Valor Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Valor Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
