After a string of four wins, the Chancellor Chargers's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 74-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of James Monroe. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (67), Chancellor still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Chancellor still got an impressive performance from Ja?Den Mckoy, who scored 29 points along with five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mckoy has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Seth Hunter, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.
Even though they lost, Chancellor were working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
James Monroe's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Makel Minor, who scored 25 points. Minor hasn't dropped below 19 points for four straight games. Michael Edwards was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Chancellor's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-9. As for James Monroe, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.
