Liberty Ranch extended their winning streak  to five  on Friday, bumping them up to 5-0. They strolled past the Amador Buffaloes with  points to spare, taking the game  40-26. Given the Hawks' advantage  in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the Buffaloes are ranked 582nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
 This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to  Joe Lara and  Wyatt Corriea. Lara rushed for 149 yards and three  scores on only 13 carries while  Corriea gained 143 total yards and three touchdowns. Lara's longest rush was for an impressive 63 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
As for Amador, they now  have a losing record of 2-3. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Several Buffaloes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Colby Nelson, who picked up 169 receiving yards and a pair of  touchdowns. Another player making a difference was  John McPartland, who threw for 209 yards and two  TDs.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Liberty Ranch will  square off against  rival Argonaut  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Meanwhile, Amador is set to  face off against  their familiar foe Bradshaw Christian  at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday.
