Window Rock is 0-10 against Chinle since April of 2022 but things could change on Wednesday. The Fighting Scouts will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. Window Rock is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.
Last Saturday, Window Rock didn't have quite enough to beat Tuba City and fell 10-9.

Adriano Westbrook made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Landyn Davis, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 3-for-5.
Meanwhile, Chinle got themselves on the board against Monument Valley on Monday, but Monument Valley never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 11-0 win. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 21, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Mackaden Arthur and Covington Jones were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Arthur tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Jones tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave Arthur a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At the plate, Arthur scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Jones scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Chinle is 7-1 when Arthur posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hage Tsosie, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Kennon Sorrell was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Chinle was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monument Valley only posted a batting average of .000.
Chinle's record now sits at 10-8. As for Window Rock, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.
Wednesday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Window Rock has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .448. However, it's not like Chinle struggles in that department as they've averaged .448. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Window Rock suffered a grim 17-1 defeat to Chinle in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Fighting Scouts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
