Two dominant guards in Maki Cary and Tate Adkins are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Teays Valley Christian Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Spring Valley Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Teays Valley Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Spring Valley likes a good challenge.
Even though Grace Christian scored an imposing 77 points on Friday, Teays Valley Christian still came out on top. Teays Valley Christian managed a 82-77 victory over Grace Christian.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Teays Valley Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cary, who scored 30 points along with six assists and three steals. Cary is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Eli Pendleton was another key contributor, scoring 23 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Spring Valley entered their tilt with Hurricane with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. Spring Valley snuck past Hurricane with a 48-44 win on Thursday.
Spring Valley's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Clay Robertson, who scored 12 points, and Colton Caldwell, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Caldwell has scored all season.
The win got Teays Valley Christian back to even at 10-10. As for Spring Valley, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5.
Things could have been worse for Teays Valley Christian, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 80-61 loss to Spring Valley when the teams last played last Wednesday. Can Teays Valley Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
